Earlier this week, HelloSign joined companies like Box, Hubspot, Salesforce, and Zendesk when we were accepted into Skyhigh Network’s CloudTrust program. HelloSign received an "Enterprise-ready" rating after passing a set of stringent security and business feature checkpoints.
Meeting the Skyhigh CloudTrust Program’s Standards
In conjunction with the Cloud Security Alliance, Skyhigh examines thousands of cloud services and provides an unbiased and detailed evaluation of whether these cloud services are ready to be adopted by enterprise companies.
The evaluation spans five categories:
- Data attributes
- User and device attributes
- Service attributes
- Business attributes
- Legal attributes
The advantages of having a program like CloudTrust are two-fold: First, enterprises can benefit from an unbiased third-party rating. With so many cloud services in the mix these days, it can be close to impossible for one company to take the time to vet them all. Second, the CloudTrust program ensures that the cloud services that do take the time to secure proper security, legal, and business attributes are recognized for having done so.
"Enterprise-ready" Rating Ensures a Secure SaaS Company
The use of software as a service (SaaS) has skyrocketed over the past few years. Companies like Zenefits, Salesforce, Twilio, and hundreds more are added to the group every year. Analyst firm Gartner estimates total SaaS spending will exceed $22 billion in 2015, an increase of more than 57 percent from the $14 billion spent in 2012.
To add, the benefits of integrating with pre-established and secure SaaS providers often far exceed the time and labor cost of building in-house. However, this huge growth also increases the odds of enterprises integrating with SaaS companies that are unsafe, potentially damaging the integrity of the company at whole or even worse, exposing the personal information of customers which would directly lead to a drop in user trust.
With the Skyhigh CloudTrust seal of approval, enterprise companies can be assured that HelloSign’s eSignature service meets the security and legal standards that the enterprise requires combined with the simplicity that their customers demand.
